Result: LCRC win by 6 wickets
; Scorecard

Sunday,August 13th 2006:

LVCC were 3-players short of a full team in game 6 as they could not stop the run flow put on by LCRC. Xpress, who were determined to continue their winning streak to 3-wins, failed to post a defendable total and got all out for 117. With a total of eight players in their line-up, they had to play defensively due to their early loss of wickets. The Xpress opened with the uncle and nephew combination which seemed to have worked for a good 8 overs. Sunny took charge of the LCRC bowlers early in the innings and managed to race to 27 in 32 balls. Arvin, who has not been tried as an opener, showed signs of becoming a good opening batsman, but inexperience led him to lose his wicket as he got bowled off a great delivery by Majid. The middle-order batsmen tried to show some resistance but failed to do so as Xpress looked in heaps of trouble early in the innings. Avi and Jehangir came to the rescue and managed to put on a decent partnership in the middle-order before losing focus. Adnan, who showed some good form in game 5 looked in good nick but ran out of partners and was stranded with only 4-runs under his belt.

The Xpress were lacking some key bowlers and had to use make-shift bowlers in a valiant attempt to victory. Aurangzeb was missing his opening bowling partner but was well-supported by Jahanzeb who bowled an incredible first-spell. The Xpress did sense a hint of victory as the LCRC wickets tumbled in quick successions, but a strong partnership between Bala and Chan helped seal a victory for LCRC. Bala was involved in a game saving partnership with Chan in game 2 where he scored a maiden half-century.

LCRC saved faced to win a consolation match against the Xpress despite losing quick wickets. Game 7 will definitely be interesting as the Lankans will be tested to see if they can start a winning streak before the start of the winter league due to start on September 10th, 2006.
